Is this patent still valid?

Check whether a patent is still valid and where patent protection is in force or pending. Get a clear overview of the current patent legal status using PatCheck – without legal expertise.

Typical situation:
You have been given a patent number and are asked to clarify whether patent protection is still in effect.

How it is done

1. Open PatCheck
Start from the PatCheck home screen.

2. Select “Where is the invention protected?”

3. Enter the patent number(s)
Add the patent you want to check. If there are several related patents, add all of them.

4. Review the protection situation
PatCheck shows a consolidated overview of the current protection situation for the invention, including:

  • where protection is effective
  • where protection is pending
  • whether further patent protection in other countries is no longer possible
